Competition Analysis — Found a site that uses collaboration from users to enrich videos (SAM Network)
This is me, live without preparation, recording and narrating when I read their About Page.
Written reflection and narrative when understanding their about page
How they articulate the phenomenon, new category, behaviour, or value proposition
- Confirms an idea/hypothesis that annotations and collaboration on top of video can generate new value (knowledge) via “first video database for knowledge”
- Confirms an idea/hypothesis of less hassle to get to insight and value from videos, or that videos may carry on a lot of value that is undiscoverable as they are recorded — “discover and understand any topic through rare and insightful videos.”
How they do it, and what kind of content
They depict how they do it in the statement “All videos are chaptered, annotated and enriched with useful resources to better grasp their content, no matter how long and arduous they may be.” and for what they do it, the selection of the kind of content “These hidden gems of the internet range from interviews of Alfred Hitchcock, J.K Rowling, Hannah Arendtor Steve Jobs, to lectures given by the most renowned scholars in top universities.”
They acknowledge how they are a “On Top of Existing Content” kind of network
“SAM Network does not own the video content or YouTube account from which it is shared. Video content is therefore not altered or re-edited by our action.”
They recon the work of collaborators
“We wish to thank everyone for their willingness to share their video content that makes this initiative possible!”
They call for action
“On SAM Network, everyone can contribute! Create a free account, add videos and chapters, and annotate them with any text or resource you want…”
They identify a possible category
- Productivity — “SAM Network increases your productivity by boosting your research of original, relevant and easy-to-get content.”
